About Us

Gerry S. Kaplan, MSW, is President of Kaplan Research Associates Inc, which he founded in 1988.

Gerry has over 30 years of experience in the research and evaluation field. He served as a Research and Evaluation Specialist with the Province of Manitoba, and was the Coordinator of Research and Information Systems with the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba (AFM) from 1990 through 2000.

Gerry left the AFM in June 2000 to give his undivided attention to his consulting practice. Gerry brings a breadth of first-hand organizational experience to his consulting practice. He has served as Executive Director of not-for-profit organizations, as Coordinator of Community and Resource Development in the child welfare and community healthcare fields, and on Boards of Directors. This includes serving as the Chair of the Board of Age and Opportunity Inc. of Winnipeg from 2002 through 2005. He also served as a Shop Steward at the Vancouver Health Department in the early 1980s. Through this hands-on experience Gerry fully understands the challenges and demands faced by both senior managers and unions.

The vision of Kaplan Research Associates Inc. is "Research and Evaluations for Action!." Gerry believes the primary purpose of every research and evaluation process is to provide clients with the information needed for successful strategic planning and organizational development.

Gerry received his Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Manitoba, specializing in clinical practice, and his Master of Social Work degree from the University of British Columbia, specializing in Social Planning and Administration.
